- Working with the captain to create a crash-course in everything Shef Uni Fencing from how comps and matches work to GIAGs to socials
- A Google calendar thats visible to all club members that they can add to their calendars to see everything planned
- Posting to highlight the amazing members of our club with all of their achievements at external competitions and BUCS matches and promoting marginalised members
- Posting in-theme with the visibility months about Fencers past and present who are under represented
- I’ve been dealing with sponsors in various capacities for two years so I’m familiar with the rigamarole and have a good rapport with Steinhaus
- I also secured the revs sponsorship back in 2024 (rip) so I’m familiar with negotiating a new sponsorship deal and would like to look at Forum or Bungalows and Bears if the new social secs agree
- We’d need to raise £600 over the course of first semester which, with a mixture of charity matches, sponsored runs and charity socials we can absolutely hit! And we’ll then get to have our name on the children’s hospital!
- I also want to keep up the support for member’s fundraising initiatives and give people a chance to join in deciding what charities we should support with events like the alumni match and bake/sweet stalls at comps
- I planned the og Movember match last academic year, and have been planning big socials for the society for two years now. Outside of fencing I’ve been a treasurer and band coordinator and have been involved in the organisation of countless gigs, a festival and an entire album (plus running a miniature festival with a friend for coming up on three years now)
- In the past Fencing has volunteered to go and teach at schools and has been contacted by the children’s hospital in one of their initiatives. I want to bring this back!
- I will also keep an eye on various community efforts (sports or otherwise) to promote to all of you and/or get the club involved in
- I’ll also make sure to vet any charities that the club looks to support and be as transparent as possible about how your money is used
- I’d also like to, with other committee members, help with the fundraisers for the club. They may not be for charity but they’re for the betterment of the club for all of us!
